Dr. Roy Lubkeman grew up in Hampton Iowa and graduated from Hampton Community High School in 1979.  He attended Dana College in Blair Nebraska for one year as a pre-chiropractic major, then went to Iowa State University studying music and psychology.  Dr. Lubkeman graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Iowa State.

Dr. Roy was a Deputy Sheriff for Buchanan County (Independence, Iowa) from 1983 until 1987.  He then was hired by the Iowa Department of Public Safety as a Special Agent and worked from 1987 until 1994 in various locations throughout Iowa.

Dr. Lubkeman attended Palmer College of Chiropractic from 1994 until 1998, graduating with a Doctorate of Chiropractic.  Dr. Lubkeman worked in clinics in Clive, Clinton and Hawarden, Iowa prior to moving to Ankeny.  These experiences have offered Dr. Lubkeman a wide variety of experience in treating many different conditions and people of all ages, from the very young to the very old.

“I love treating patients.  My skills in diagnosis are one of my proud points and I don’t just accept a previous diagnosis, I dig into the cause of pain and get to the heart of the condition.  I utilize a number of techniques to help patients feel better and will do everything in my power to restore health.  It does my heart good to see people get relief from pain without taking drugs or having surgery,” says Dr. Lubkeman.  "One of the requirements for being a patient in this office is that you actually get well.  I will refer you to another physician if I see that you are not making progress.  When you have achieved health, I will advise you about the best ways to maintain or improve your state of health."

Dr. Lubkeman is a member of the Ankeny Chamber of Commerce, Business Network International, Iowa Chiropractic Society, and a member of Lutheran Church of Hope Northbranch.  He is interested in music (playing bass guitar), bicycling, reading, and wood working.  He is also interested in starting to golf again when time permits and in mission trips with his church.

The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause and prevention of disease.
