Following is The Bridge Illustration.  This gives the basics of why we should accept God, what the consequences are for not accepting Him, and what it's like when we accept Him.  Read through this program and see what you think.

InTheBeginning.JPG

In the beginning, God and man walked together.  They talked and had fellowship with each other.  Man separated himself from God by doing what God told him not to do (sin).

People desperately try to mend this rift with God by building bridges or trying to do stuff that God will like.  But when compared to God's standards, "our good deeds are as filthy rags in the sight of a holy God" (Isaiah 64:6)
We try to be good people and have high morals, but God sets the standard so high, just by who He is, that we can never reach it.
We try to be good people and do good stuff, but guess what, we are way below the bar here also.
We think by reading the bible and gaining knowledge about God, we can become acceptable.
We also try "doing religion" but just going to church, doesn't get us in.
Read Jeremiah 17:9, Romans 2:13, and Romans 3:23 to confirm that simply being a good person isn't enough.

Deeds.JPG

The result of our separation from God is eternal death. "For the wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23).  But that's not all there is.  The bible tells us "it is appointed for men to die once, and after this comes judgement" (Hebrews 9:27).  So we have to go through judgement on this path and the result is hell.  The judgement bar is set so high that if we have sinned just one time, we don't pass the test.  How's that going for you?  Then is Hell, "a place that was originally prepared for Satan and his demons (Matthew 25:41).  So, Man can't bridge the gap by himself.  Man's condition is hopeless (Ephesians 2:12)

Deliverance.JPG

There is Hope.  God loves his creation and provided a way that we can get out of this bind.  But, only man can make the choice to accept this way past judgement.  God won't force us to take the way out, as much as He wants to.

You see, God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, to earth.  It's actually God Himself, taking human form, who came here to give us the way of escape.  In the Man of Jesus, God took the form of 100% God, and 100% man at the same time.  He experienced all of the same stuff that we experience.  He passed all the tests, obeyed the rules, did everything right, and then he was hung on a cross because of it.

Christ died to pay for the junk I do, but not only that, He was made alive again (rose from the grave) to make us right with God and now He sits on his own judgement seat, that if we believe in Him, we get a free pass into heaven.  This is the "Good News", "that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day." (1 Corinthians 15:3,4)

Saveallmen.JPG

Jesus died to save all men, but not all men ae saved.  Why? Because God will not force us to believe.  He leaves the choice up to us.  Jesus says, "whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life". (John 5:24)

So do you believe?

Jesus also said, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and I will dine with him and he with Me."

So to everyone who is willing to be saved, God gives you eternal life for just having faith.

If you have just accepted Christ, go to the resources page and say the prayer there.  You can have this gift.
